Bean-to-bar Chocolatier: Working with the finest cacao beans

What started in 1990 as the first confectionary chocolate shop in the West Kootenays has evolved into a micro factory, where chocolate bars and decadent confections are created daily, directy out of sustainable, single-origin cocoa beans from Colombia. Nelson's Chocofellar currently produces 11 various chocolate bars and 27 different truffles, pralines, caramels and seasonal confections.

    On April 2, 1990, Sam Lazenby and Hollie Wheeler opened up shop in Nelson, BC and did their very first delivery to the local markets. 31 years have passed, and Nelson's Chocofellar is now distributed across the Kootenays, serving the communities of Nelson, Kaslo, Salmo and Rossland.

    New Owner

    Since 2021, Swiss Chocolatier Entrepreneur Aurelien Sudan carries Nelson's Chocofellar torch, supported by hundred years of combined experience and knowledge passed on from his mentors Sam Lazenby, Hollie Wheeler and John Down.
