What started in 1990 as the first decadent chocolate shop in the heart of Nelson BC has evolved into a micro factory, where chocolate bars and high quality, decadent confections are created entirely in house out of Colombian cocoa beans.
Nelson's Chocofellar currently produces 11 various chocolate bars and 27 different truffles, pralines, caramels and seasonal confections.
It tooks us 6 months of trials and fine-tuning, but we now produce all our chocolate bars and confections with single origin sustainable cocoa beans which are grown, harvested, fermented and sold directly by small municipal farms located in Santander, North East mountains of Colombia. We roast, crack, select and winnow our beans prior to them going in the circular conches. We are happy to be supporting a more ethical international economy and reduce our overall carbon footprint, while guaranteeing our clients a superior food product with a clear, distinguishable DNA. Furthermore, we are proud to be using organic cocoa butter & organic cane sugar to produce the best chocolate possible.
